I already had the cute banner set that we were invited to use, and had an idea of how I wanted to use it before I bought it, so this was great inspiration to get crafting!
I follow this blog and am always inspired by the beautiful blending that she uses on many of her cards, and she often makes fantastic use of silhouettes as well, so I used those as inspiration to create this CAS card.
I do love how easy it is to do what I want with shapes in the Silhouette software...If I want a 5.25 inch shape, I set the size and cut...so simple!
I like to decorate my envelopes too, and for this one I used the negative of the die cut as a stencil, and tried to fill in the shape with the same inks I used on the background of the card...it moved a bit when I was changing colors...but turned out pretty cute!
I stamped a simple sentiment on the front, and although I didn't take a picture of it, I cut a Happy Mother's Day script sentiment on the silhouette to go inside...this card will be working its way to my mil for this weekend.
Supplies:
- cardstock: scrap bin
- ink: versafine (black), Distress Ink (blues, purple)
- cut files: Silhouette America
- stamp: Hero Arts
Thanks much for stopping by!
