Friends with Flair ~ Summertime Wreath

I was wandering through Pinterest posts the other day (big surprise, not!) and came across this fabulous wreath made from unexpected supplies that I think is fabulous. So I gathered my scissors and paper and went to work!

I made the flowers according to her instructions, making some from 6 inch squares and some from 4 inch squares. I'm still trying to use supplies that I have, so I chose some happy papers from a pack that I've had sitting around for a while. If you want to try making some of these, definitely go with paper, not cardstock, cardstock would never be able to bend around the middle stone like you need it to.

I decided to go with a wreath that had flowers across some of it instead of completely covering it...mostly because I got bored with making flowers! LOL But I also wanted to add something to emphasize summer...and of course I found the perfect stamp in my Unity stash!

I pulled out a $1 frame and cut out the acetate, then stamped the image, crinkled and inked the paper and put it in the frame. I also decided that the frame was too bright, so I ran the ink across the frame as well.

Supplies:

  • wreath: Dollar Tree
  • paper: K&Company
  • ink: Unity
  • stamp: Unity June 2010 KOM
  • frame: Michael's

I had a ton of fun making something other than my normal cards. Do you ever papercraft decorations for your home?

I'm linking up over at the Unity Friends with Flair Friday party! Coe hop around for inspiration, and check out the latest sale...its a great one!

Thanks for stopping by!
