Silhouette Weekly Shape Challenge - Birds on a Line

There is a new challenge going on over at the Silhouette blog, where you are invited to use a specific shape and make a project...and you can win a $10 download credit! Wow! There are already several entries...go check it out!

I already had the cute banner set that we were invited to use, and had an idea of how I wanted to use it before I bought it, so this was great inspiration to get crafting!

I follow this blog and am always inspired by the beautiful blending that she uses on many of her cards, and she often makes fantastic use of silhouettes as well, so I used those as inspiration to create this CAS card.

I do love how easy it is to do what I want with shapes in the Silhouette software...If I want a 5.25 inch shape, I set the size and simple!

I like to decorate my envelopes too, and for this one I used the negative of the die cut as a stencil, and tried to fill in the shape with the same inks I used on the background of the moved a bit when I was changing colors...but turned out pretty cute!

I stamped a simple sentiment on the front, and although I didn't take a picture of it, I cut a Happy Mother's Day script sentiment on the silhouette to go inside...this card will be working its way to my mil for this weekend.
