I'm keeping it simple this month...my project is the first of what I intend to be several to decorate my space...but I only had time to make the one before I had to pack up my craft room to move to a new house!
I used this design from the Silhouette store, and cut it out at about 8 inches. I live in the southwest, and love, love, love the work of Georgia O'Keefe, and how her super large flowers look fabulous. I assembled the flower according to the designer's instructions and glued it onto a 12" canvas that I had painted with a bright turquoise...that's it!
The plan is to make about six and hang them on the upper cabinet that faces the breakfast room...so that I can have spring year-round! I'll spare you the picture of the lonely panel on the expanse of cupboard!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I'm so impressed you got it done before the move too. I finally set up my desk yesterday and i hope to have my computer set up by tomorrow! I've been missing my silhouette. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I love this flower! Thanks so much for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to attach it to the painted canvas!
ReplyDeleteThis is too pretty and the colors are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow you are moving and still had the time to participate in the challenge! I am so impressed! Love the cherry blossom it is sitting in my library now unused. I think I may need to rectify that!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! This is sooo beautiful! Simple doesn't always mean something can't be beautiful too! Great Job! Hope you'll check out my project on my blog http://www.katespapercreations.com/2014/04/spring-has-sprung-subway-art.html
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Great job! I love the extra inking on the edges of the petals to bring a little more dimension to it! I am working on a card with a flower detail and may just have to use the same flower! Hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteThat one flower has a lot of impact - looks really great :) I like the edges in the contrast colour too.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose! What a great way to add a bit of color into your decor. I'm also impressed at how well it works on the 12" canvas! I can't wait to see them all together. :D
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! And I imagine that a whole collage of these flowers on canvases would look absolutely awesome!
